Respite Services
Out of Home Respite
Respite is one of the most critical services required by families with a child with special needs. To respond to this need, ErinoakKids operates an overnight Respite Camp at Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWDS) at 53 Bond Street in Oakville. The respite camp provides short periods of parenting relief for children with complex care needs.
Referrals
Medically Fragile Technologically Dependent Respite Camp:
Children identified by the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) as medically fragile/technologically dependent (MFTD) and living in their home with their parents in Peel, Halton or Dufferin are eligible for the Respite Camp.
The program operates on designated weekends and during the summer. Families may register their child to attend either the overnight or the day-only option.
Referrals for service are accepted from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS), Community Care Access Centres (CCACs), Community Living Mississauga (CLM), Halton Support Services (HSS), ErinoakKids staff and parents/caregivers.

Non Medically Fragile Technologically Dependent Respite Camp:
ErinoakKids' clients between the ages of 6 to 18 years who present with significant physical disabilities may participate in the Respite Camp.
The program operates on designated weekends. Families may register their child to attend the overnight or the day option.
Referrals for service are accepted from ErinoakKids staff or the child's parents/caregivers.

Saturday Respite:
Children living in Peel between the ages of 6 and 18 years who present with significant behaviour challenges may participate in the day respite program.
