ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development is shocked and saddened at the horrific attack that killed 4 members of a Muslim family in London, Ontario on Sunday, June 6, 2021. We condemn this and all acts of racism, hatred and Islamophobia and grieve along with our friends, colleagues and the entire Muslim community in this tragic loss of life.
ErinoakKids is privileged to employ and serve persons who reflect the richness of Ontario’s mosaic, including those of diverse backgrounds, beliefs and cultures. Today as we mourn, we acknowledge the role each of us has to play in ending the violence. Our hearts are broken for the young child left orphaned by this heinous crime.

for FAQs and more information.
Please note that at this time, all in person services at ErinoakKids are by scheduled appointment only.

Over the past days, a mass grave holding the remains of 215 indigenous children was found on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops B.C. In acknowledgement of this tragedy all flags across ErinoakKids’ sites have been lowered to half-mast this morning.
The horrors of the residential school system, its genesis and practices can never be overestimated, for all those children forcibly removed from their homes, cultures, languages and customs, never to return. They, their families and communities suffered immeasurably, and that suffering continues today.
This is yet another stark reminder that reparations to the First Nations have yet to be made, and that the work of Truth and Reconciliation, both individually and collectively, must continue.
Please join us today in honouring the memory of these 215 children, and all children lost to the ravages of colonialism, in this country and beyond.

Given decreasing rates of infection and increasing vaccination rates across our communities, ErinoakKids will begin a phased-in expansion of in-person services at all sites as of Monday, May 31, 2021.
With a continued focus on health and safety, the expansion will be gradual, by appointment only, with in-person services provided in a one to one format only.
Additional services, including group services, will continue to be available virtually, as appropriate, for the time being.
If infection rates continue on their current trajectory we expect to continue to expand the number and range of services offered throughout the summer and beyond. We are closely monitoring advisories from Public Health and working with our Infection Control experts to ensure that we are able to deliver services safely to as many children and youth as possible.

ErinoakKids now has a new online tool called Catalyst for parents and guardians of children and youth enrolled in Autism Services to track their child/youth's progress. During each therapy session,* ErinoakKids’ Behavior Clinicians collect data related to each child/youth’s specified goals and input that data into the child/youth’s Catalyst account. Parents/guardians can sign up for a free Catalyst account and log in to track their child/youth's progress. The information is updated after every session, and is available in graph form, so it’s easy to see a picture of how progress is being made over various sessions.
Visit the Catalyst page to learn more about this tool and to watch videos on how to use Catalyst.
*Please note that service packages for Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy are not able to be tracked through Catalyst at this time.

Our provincial government announced this afternoon that effective Thursday, April 8 at 12:01 a.m., all of Ontario will enter into a stay at home order for the next four weeks in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This means we should only leave home for essential purposes such as work, grocery shopping, health care appointments etc.
As a result of this lock down, for everyone’s safety, the difficult decision has been made to cancel respite services until (minimally) April 19 at which time current conditions will be re-assessed. We are, however, continuing to provide scheduled 1:1 (only) appointments which are being delivered in accordance with strict protocols. ErinoakKids’ infection control protocols exceed all recommendations of Public Health, and combined with appropriate use of PPE provide high levels of protection to our clients and families, as well as staff.
In order to continue delivery of essential services, we will remain vigilant in requiring staff, client families and all who attend our sites to adhere to our health and safety protocols. This includes (but is not limited to) the requirement that all persons entering out site answer COVID-19 screening questions that can be found on our COVID-19 resource page
. Please review these questions before your appointment to ensure that you are cleared to enter the site.
We continue to monitor conditions on a daily basis and will post updates on our website. Please check back regularly, and stay safe.

Please be advised that effective immediately, clients accessing autism services who attend the Brampton site will be provided with these services virtually (only). Given the intensity, length and continuous close contact requirement of autism therapy sessions, a temporary pause on in-person services has been implemented, as an additional measure, to maximize the safety of clients, families and staff at a time of high levels of COVID-19 in the Brampton area. This pause will be in effect for the month of December. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with families, in the hope that by January 2021 case levels have stabilized to the point that on site autism services can be re-instituted at Brampton. Meantime, we encourage parents to take advantage of the availability of high quality, virtual services for their children. Stay safe and be well, everyone.

MISSISSAUGA – November 24, 2020 – ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development has partnered with Superfan Nav Bhatia to raise awareness and understanding of autism support services available to children and their families. Superfan Nav Bhatia, South-Asian Canadian entrepreneur, was sincerely inspired by the warmth and quality of services provided at ErinoakKids during his visits to two Erinoakkids sites earlier this year. Recognizing the lack of knowledge and conversations about autism care that may exist in communities in need of such supports, he encourages families to have honest conversations and be open to seeking the right support to help their children achieve their fullest potential.
