Independent Living Program (ILP)

The ErinoakKids Independent Living Program offers clients ages 16 - 19 an opportunity to learn life skills while living in an accessible apartment. Clients have access to 24-hour attendant services provided by AbleLiving Services Thrive Group.

Participants will learn invaluable life skills like:

  • Use public transportation
  • Direct your own services
  • Plan and prepare meals
  • Manage money
  • Set personal goals
  • And much more!


Details

Applicants must be receiving centre-based physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy services at ErinoakKids, and still attending high school.

Program fee: $800
For questions regarding the cost of the program, please contact the Life Skills Coordinator directly.

Dates: The 2026 program will run from July 5 to 15.  

Location: University of Toronto Mississauga campus 

The  ErinoakKids Family Support Fund is available to those who require financial support to access programming during a time of crisis or financial need. 





How to Apply

Applicants will independently complete an interview to identify goals related to independent living, employment and/or post-secondary education on March 21, 2026. Twelve clients will be selected to participate in the program. 

  1. Applicants must be receiving centre-based physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy service at ErinoakKids.

  2. Fill out the online application by Friday, February 27, 2026.Apply Here!

  3. The Life Skills Coordinator will call to arrange an interview time on Saturday March 21, 2026 at our Mississauga site between 9 a.m - 3 p.m.
