Family Initiated Workshops from ErinoakKids

ErinoakKids is pleased to offer a variety of free, live workshops online.

Our family initiated workshops are led by behaviour clinicians and participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and ask questions. There is no cost to participate. Please refer to our Events Calendar to find out when these workshops are being offered, and for details on how to register. We look forward to having you join us!

New! We are offering free, pre-recorded workshops online!

The same core content from our live workshops has been recorded so that those who are unable to fit a live workshop into their schedule can still access this training.

Video links are shared below for the online workshops currently available--more are being added, so please check back if the workshop you're interested in is not yet available in video format.

Our workshops:

Developing Communication Skills
In this workshop you will learn about basic communication skills. We will focus on forms and functions of communication as well as strategies to enhance communication.

Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis

In this workshop you will learn general facts about Applied Behavioural Analysis. We will include evidence-based strategies that you can use as you teach your child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. These strategies include defining behaviours, reinforcement, task analysis, and prompting. Click here to watch a pre-recorded Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis workshop (25 minutes).

Introduction to Virtual Care

Once you have made the decision to join ErinoakKids’ Virtual Care ABA Services, each family will have the opportunity to understand more about how Virtual Care works, some of the research behind the efficacy of virtual care, as well as the expectations and responsibilities of parents/caregivers during their child’s Virtual Care service.  It is highly recommended to take the time to watch the workshop and prepare for service and call one of our Clinical Sales Consultants should you have any questions.

Learning to Play and Playing to Learn

Discover information and tools that will help facilitate your child’s social and communication skills during play time. You will learn how to involve your child in highly motivating activities that will increase engagement and social interest. Some of those activities include singing with hand gestures and playing with bubbles.

One Bite at a Time

Discover how you can use different strategies to manage your child’s eating challenges and mealtime behaviours. Help identify individual feeding goals for your child, and learn how to introduce new tastes/flavours and progress food textures.
