Caregiver Support Program (CARES) - VIRTUAL

CARES is a virtual eight-week support group led by Family Engagement Facilitators with shared experiences.

Did you know?

Having facilitators who can relate helps with mental health interventions - it’s been proven. Peer facilitators are able to support caregivers and reduce their  burden.

CARES is tailored for caregivers of children with special needs, addressing their unique social, emotional and psychological challenges.

Why attend CARES?

  • Engage in coping strategies, manage stress and adopt a self-compassionate view.
  • Created and monitored by seasoned mental health professionals, ensuring that every session is grounded in evidence-based practices and caters to the specific needs of caregivers.
  • A safe environment to share, hear and connect with other caregivers.
  • Peer facilitators (Family Engagement Facilitators) are selected based on experience working with vulnerable populations and/or having been a caregiver of a loved one.

Participation Criteria

  • Must be parent/caregiver of an active client of EOK under 18.
  • Encouraged to attend at least 80% of sessions during the eight-week period.
