ErinoakKids Family Initiated Workshops 

ErinoakKids is pleased to offer a variety of free, live workshops online, along with some pre-recorded video workshops you can view at your convenience.

Our family initiated workshops are led by behaviour clinicians and participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and ask questions. There is no cost to participate. Please refer to our Events Calendar to find out when these workshops are being offered and for details on how to register. We look forward to having you join us!

These workshops are meant to assist you in helping your child or youth to grow and develop and reach their full potential. If you need more support, ErinoakKids is here for you, every step of the way.

Our Workshops

Developing Communication Skills (live)

In this workshop you will learn about basic communication skills. We will focus on forms and functions of communication (i.e. types of communication and the reasons for different kinds of communication) as well as strategies to enhance communication.


Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis (live and pre-recorded)

In this workshop you will learn general facts about Applied Behavioural Analysis. You will learn evidence-based strategies that you can use as you teach your child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. These strategies include defining behaviours, reinforcement, task analysis and prompting. 



Introduction to Virtual Care (live)

Once you have made the decision to join ErinoakKids Virtual Care ABA Services, each family will have the opportunity to understand more about how Virtual Care works, some of the research behind the efficacy of virtual care, as well as the expectations and responsibilities of parents/caregivers during their child's Virtual Care service. It is highly recommended to take the time to watch the workshop and prepare for service and call one of our Clinical Sales Consultants should you have any questions.


Learning to Play and Playing to Learn (live)

Discover information and tools that will help facilitate your child’s social and communication skills during play time. You will learn how to involve your child in highly motivating activities that will increase engagement and social interest. Some of those activities include singing with hand gestures and playing with bubbles. 


One Bite at a Time (live and pre-recorded)

Discover how you can use different strategies to manage your child’s eating challenges and mealtime behaviours. Help identify individual feeding goals for your child, and learn how to introduce new tastes/flavours and progress food textures. 



Sleep Solutions (live)

This workshop is aimed at sharing information on common sleep challenges in children, and provides practical sleep strategies to help you and your child sleep better. 


Teaching Daily Living Skills (live)

In this workshop you will learn practical strategies to teach your child daily living skills such as getting dressed or taking a shower.  Strategies include learning how to break down a skill into individual parts and how to use motivation to encourage success. 


Toilet Learning (live and pre-recorded)

This session is designed to give parents and caregivers a better understanding of steps and strategies involved in supporting your child in becoming toilet trained. 


Understanding Behaviour (live)

In this workshop you will learn how to define behaviour, including examples of appropriate and challenging behaviour. You will learn how to apply the Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence (A-B-C) Model, looking at the different functions of behaviour and general teaching strategies.
