Play Group for Children who are Medically Fragile    

No cost
Come and join us for music, circle time, stories, socializing and free play FUN!  

Mississauga site
Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m.

Yoga & Tae Kwon Do

$125
An introductory class for children to explore yoga and the martial art of tae kwon do, helping them find new ways to relax and be active.  

Participant Criteria:
  • Age 4-8
  • Able to participate in a group activities with minimal support
  • Able to follow directions with or without support 
  • Able to attend to a task for 5 minutes

Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m.

Boccia Bratz

No cost
Boccia is an adapted sport that can be played by all, no matter your ability and level.  Work on your physical, social and mental skills while having fun and staying active with your friends.  Join us for this eight-week program developed by OCPSA.
 
New activities each week will work on different skills such as communication, balance, and object manipulation (and more) so that athletes will gain physical literacy skills that will help them stay active through life!

Participant Criteria:
  • Age 4+
  • Able to participate in group activities with minimal support
  • Able to attend to a task for a minimum of 5 minutes
  • Interested in learning about adapted sport
  • Siblings are welcome to join the group if appropriate

Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.
April 10 to June 12 (no sessions on May 1 or June 5)

Halton site
Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
April 17 to June 6

 

Sing Along Social

$150
Come spend time with your family and share your love of music by exploring various instruments and interactive activities! All family members welcome!

Participant Criteria:
  • Enjoy classic children’s songs and nursery rhymes
  • Enjoys singing and moving to music
  • Willing to have lots of fun

Mondays from 5 to 6 p.m.
April 9 to June 25 (no session on May 21)

Halton site
Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Everybody’s Got Talent  

$150
Come explore your talent and share your love of music with various instruments and interactive activities!

Participant Criteria:
  • Age 9-13
  • Able to participate in group activities
  • Able to follow directions with or without support

Bike Day

Come out and try bikes and trikes for all ages! Vendors and therapists will be available to assist you.

A group for children and caregivers who enjoy music, circle time, stories, socializing and free play fun!

  • Able to attend with a parent or caregiver

Try-It

The goal of this program is to provide participants the opportunity to explore and increase leisure awareness by participating in a variety of recreation activities.

Participant Criteria:
  • Ages: 8 – 12
  • Able to participate in group activities and discussion with minimal support

Everybody's Got Talent

My Magic Hands

$60
A professional magician teaches children the secrets of great magic tricks and how to perform them for family and friends. At the end of the six weeks, the participants’ stage and star in "The Big Show", a magic show recital showcasing their accomplishments.

Participant Criteria:
  • Age 8 – 14
  • Able to participate in group activities with minimal support and/or redirection
  • Able to follow directions

Boccia Bratz

No cost
If you love to play Boccia or would like to learn this is for you! This curriculum based program, developed by the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association, focuses on the idea of developing Physical Literacy and Active Participation for Life. Siblings (6 years and older) are welcome to participate in this group as well.

Participant Criteria:
  • Ages 6+ with a physical disability
  • Able to participate in group activities with minimal support and/or redirection

Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m.
May 9 to June 13

 

Bollywood Dance

No cost
A high energy hour of Bollywood dancing with a focus on fun and fitness! This program is offered in partnership with Shiamak Davar International Inc. Victory Arts Program. Dancers will learn a routine to perform in the Summer Funk Show (date TBA).

Participant Criteria:
  • Ages 8+
  • Able to participate in group activities with minimal support and/or redirection
  • Able to follow a simple series for 3-4 step directions

Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
March 20 to April 17

Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Notes

  • Only current ErinoakKids clients are eligible to participate unless otherwise stated.  New participants may be asked to complete an assessment to ensure suitability for the program. Acceptance to the program is at the discretion of the facilitator.
  • Programs do not provide one-to-one support for attendant care (lifting, toileting, or administration of medication) or behavioral support. If assistance is required, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or appointed attendant to fulfill these duties. Volunteers can only facilitate your child’s participation in activities and are not permitted to assist with these duties.
  • If registration is low the program may be canceled and fees will be fully refunded.
