Entry to School Program

ErinoakKids is pleased to provide the Entry to School (ETS) Program at our Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville sites.  

ETS is a funded program through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and is delivered in partnership with Dufferin Child and Family Services, Reach Out Centre for Kids and Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services

Registration is now open for fall 2024: 

As a pilot program for September 2024, ErinoakKids is offering a full-day option:
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, September until December. 

Half days will also be available, from Monday to Friday, September until February 2025. 

Program Overview

The ETS program is open to children ages three to six years, registered with the OAP and entering school for the first time. This program supports successful transitions into school and focuses on building skills in six key areas: 

  1. communication
  2. play
  3. social interaction
  4. functional routines (i.e. following routines and self-help skills, like dressing and toilet training)
  5. behavioural self-management (learning to regulate emotions)
  6. and pre-academics, learning and attention

Accessing the Program

To access the Entry To School program, you must have received an invitation from the MCSS through the OAP.

 To be eligible to enroll, children must:

  • be registered with the Ontario Autism Program
  • have received an invitation
  • be between three and six years of age as of December 31 in the year they are starting school
  • be starting Kindergarten or Grade One for the first time. 

Children who are already enrolled in school, either part-time or full-time, are not eligible to participate in the OAP Entry to School program. Please visit our Autism Services page for other eligible services.
