Respite Services

Respite is one of the most critical services required by families with a child with special needs. To respond to this need, ErinoakKids operates Saturday Day and overnight Respite Camp options. The respite camp provides short periods of parenting relief for children who are receiving Enhanced Funding and/or have complex care needs.

Caring and qualified nurses and program assistants care for children while at a respite camp. Children participate in activities such as music, swimming, arts and crafts, Snoezelen Room play, and outdoor time.

Please click a link below for detailed information and referral processes for our respite programs.

Saturday Day Respite
A day-long respite held on Saturdays for children who present with significant behaviour challenges.

Overnight Respite (MFTD)
A respite camp for children who have the enhanced respite funding, and are identified as Medically Fragile and Technologically Dependant (MFTD). Currently, the program operates on designated weekdays during the summer. Families may register their child to attend either the day-only option.

Overnight Respite (Non-MFTD)
A weekend-long respite camp for clients who present with significant physical disabilities. Families may register their child to attend either the overnight or day-only option. Please note that non-MFTD camps do not run in the summer.
