ErinoakKids offers therapy, services and support to children with autism and their families, delivered by qualified, caring professionals. For twenty years, families have relied on us to help their children grow, develop and reach their full potential. We are beside you every step of the way.

Why does Superfan Nav Bhatia believe in ErinoakKids? Because ErinoakKids helps children living with autism and their families get the customized support they need to succeed. With our highly qualified and dedicated staff safely providing services in-person on site and online, we are beside you every step of the way in your journey.

In Person Services – Available Now Limited on site services are being offered at our Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville locations. Safeguarding the health and safety of the families we serve, along with the health and safety of our staff, is our most important priority. Intensive cleaning and screening measures are in place throughout our sites, and all adults are required to wear masks. Group activities for children and youth are conducted in small learning pods to limit the number of people each individual has contact with.

To help prepare children and youth coming on site for autism services, we encourage families to watch our video explaining the new safety measures in place at our centres.

Information for Completing the Ontario Autism Program Childhood Budget Form

Families who have been on the waiting list for the Ontario Autism Program will be mailed a Childhood Budget Information Letter, with a code, when they become eligible for funding. In that letter, families are directed to complete a form on the Ministry’s website called the Ontario Autism Program Childhood Budget Form.

Step 5 of the Ontario Autism Program Childhood Budget Form asks families to choose how they wish to receive their funding. One of the options is to have the Ministry issue all or some of your funding directly to a service provider of your choice. If you would like to have some or all of your Childhood Budget sent directly to ErinoakKids for your child’s services, here is the information required for that form:

ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development
1230 Central Parkway West
Mississauga, Ontario    L5C 0A5
childhoodbudget@erinoakkids.ca   905-855-2690

This is what the data looks like on the form:
childhood-budget-submission-info.PNG

NOTE: Please leave the Unit Number, PO Box, and Cell Phone fields blank. Please use this address regardless of whether you wish to receive services at our Brampton, Mississauga or Oakville site—it is our administrative address.

In Person Service Packages  Available Now

In Person 1:1 ABA Treatment
The term “ABA” stands for Applied Behaviour Analysis, which refers to the science behind behaviour; why we act the way we do! ErinoakKids’ ABA programs are supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) providing clinical oversight and ensuring best practices in service.

In this package, our clinicians will use ABA to develop adaptive behaviours that are important to your child’s overall functioning.

You and your child will start with an assessment of your child’s unique needs and strengths with one of our clinicians. Together, you will develop a set of goals that your child will work towards in areas such as communication, play, daily living, and learning readiness. Goals might include improving language development, building school readiness skills, or increasing socially adaptive skills; goals like lengthening sentences or learning to request from people other than parents (language development), sitting in a chair and following simple instructions (school readiness), and turn-taking (social development).

Each 3 hour session your child has with their Behaviour Clinician will target these goals. Packages are available for 2,3 to 5 days a week, in blocks of 8 consecutive weeks.

With up to 15 hours of ABA per week, we can help your child build skills and achieve their goals!

Package includes:
  • Collaboration with caregivers on goal setting
  • Ongoing individual assessment
  • Opportunities for parent observation sessions and coaching
  • Therapy sessions in centre, with a 1:1 ratio (one child to one clinician). Each session is 3 hours long. Sessions can be scheduled for 2, 3 or 5 days per week, for 8 weeks at a time.

This program is for: Children ages 2 to 18, with a diagnosis of autism

Timing:
Service runs year-round (with rolling starts) and can be purchased in blocks of 8 consecutive weeks at a time, for 6 hours (2 days), 9 hours (3 days), or 15 hours (five days) per week.

In Depth Service Planning Assessment* (up to age 18)
An interdisciplinary team will provide an in depth assessment of your child’s abilities across key skill areas, such as communication, social skills, imitation, visual performance, play, and daily living. This package begins with a virtual appointment with a Psychometrist, who will conduct a semi-structured interview using the Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales-3 (VABS-3) assessment. In your second appointment, a trained clinician will conduct a behavioural assessment of your child in their natural environment. During this assessment, the clinician will lead your family through a variety of activities and daily routines in order to observe your child’s functional skills. Once these assessments are completed, a third appointment will be scheduled to share assessment information and recommendations. You will be provided with an assessment summary, which can be used to help plan an intervention program and provide a starting point from which you can track your child’s progress. You may find it helpful to share this assessment summary with your child’s school team and other service providers.

POWER-Solving #1 Stepping Stones to Solving Life’s Everyday Problems

Your child will log into a virtual care session lead by our trained clinicians to work on solving problems without problem behaviour. Power Solving is a social problem-solving curriculum developed by Selbst & Gordon as a step-by-step process to help children develop their self-control and ability to regulate their actions when their emotions start to escalate. The program aims to teach independence with problem-solving by using the steps prescribed by POWER plus the 3D method of Discuss, Demonstrate, and Do. Trained clinicians will follow these three Ds in each step outlined by POWER on a weekly basis. This program is designed to build your child’s skills in:

Building these skills helps children have fewer behavioural outbursts, as they learn to recognize and rate their problems, brainstorm ideas for solving their problems and evaluate those solutions.

  • One (1 hour) Assessment
  • Ten (1 hour) Virtual Care group sessions (5 weeks)

This program is for: Children 3-12 years of age, with a parent or guardian
